A little about the characters....

Well it starts as a typical story....girl likes boy, boy likes girl....only more specifically in this situation it's girl likes another boy who likes another girl who the first boy likes. Do what?! ^_^ So how do these two people get together? Well here's the story....

Toudaiji Miyako is the best friend of Kusakabe Maron, A.K.A. Kaitou Jeanne -- the protagonist of the story. Miyako's father is a detective who has been investigating the crimes of the city involving works of art, and the thief -- Kaitou Jeanne. Miyako always follows her father to the crime scene and is bound and determined to catch Jeanne, not knowing that this person is truly her own best friend Maron. To add to these mysterious occurences is the arrival of another thief -- Kaitou Sindbad, who is also Nagoya Chiaki, Miyako's crush. Chiaki is a typical good-looking and somewhat arrogant male, and he flirts constantly with Maron, to Miyako's dismay. Since Maron has no intention of reciprocating Chiaki's advances, Miyako tells her that she will go after Chiaki herself. To add another side to this complicated triangle - Minazuki Yamato, the class representative throws his hat into the ring for the attention of Maron. He even goes as far as to tell Maron that he will capture Kaitou Sindbad for her since he knew she was curious about Sindbad and wanted to know more about him. Thus a partnership of sorts begins between Miyako and Yamato through their mutual desire to catch the thieves, Jeanne and Sindbad.

Yamato begins to show up at the potential crime scenes along with Miyako. These encounters involve playful banter and (although they'd never admit it at the time) flirtations amidst their competition to catch the thieves. The entire span of the story their mutual goals are to capture the theives, and earn the love of Chiaki and Maron. However it is obvious that Yamato is falling for Miyako ^_^ He finally confesses his love to her after overhearing a conversation between Maron and Miyako. In their conversation Miyako pushes Maron to act on her feelings for Chiaki, because she is giving up her pursuit of him. After Maron leaves, Miyako finds Yamato in the bushes crying (he was touched at the conversation he overheard). He confronts Miyako about her feelings for Chiaki, which she downplays by saying that she's giving up on him. In response to this he professes his love, and admits he's had feelings for her for quite awhile. (AW!) He even goes in for a kiss! (AWWWWW!)

Skipping ahead seven years, we come to the end of the story and Miyako and Yamato have married and have a four year old son named Shinji. She is a housewife and he is a young businessman. They leave near a newly married Chiaki and Maron, who have their own new infant, Natsuki. Thus the couples have a happy ending (YAY!).
